FCC’s Stealth Plan to Censor Internet Content

In order to control the internet and do so without much notice, the FCC has rolled a censorship plan into its Net Neutrality scheme. Under the fallacious rubric of “consumer protection,” the FCC is calling for the regulation of television and internet broadband

Kelly William Cobb, writing for Americans for Tax Reform, says “the FCC would begin regulating Internet access for the first time under a completely new regulatory scheme (even though they lack the authority to create it). Meanwhile, the FCC would push regulations – cloaked in the heart-warming language of competition and innovation – mandating that your cable box (known as a set-top box) become a ‘broadband gateway device’ controlling access to your Internet, TV, and phone. The FCC has already started looking at set-top box regulations in their National Broadband Plan.”

Pastor tests IRS by endorsing candidate

A South Dakota minister says he wants to do for religious freedom what the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. did for civil rights.

The Rev. H. Wayne Williams, pastor of Liberty Baptist Tabernacle in Rapid City, last month endorsed GOP state Sen. Gordon Howie in the South Dakota governor's race, in defiance of the Internal Revenue Service and a federal court ruling and in hopes of producing a landmark constitutional test case.

At issue is an IRS regulation called the Johnson Amendment, enacted in 1954, that says that 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the section of the tax code under which most churches file, cannot endorse a specific political candidate and retain its nonprofit classification.

Napolitano: US must balance liberties, security

The Associated press issued this article to soften the American People with another pebble in the pond of propaganda to our civil rights removal.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fighting homegrown terrorism by monitoring Internet communications is a civil liberties trade-off the U.S. government must make to beef up national security, the nation's homeland security chief said Friday.
As terrorists increasingly recruit U.S. citizens, the government needs to constantly balance Americans' civil rights and privacy with the need to keep people safe, said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Turkey mulls cutting relations with Israel

Palestinians carry a Turkish flag after Moslem Friday prayers in Jerusalem's Old City

ANKARA

, Turkey, June 4 (UPI) -- Turkey may cut relations with Israel over the Israeli storming of a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for Gaza, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said.

Relations between the two countries have plummeted since Israeli commandos boarded the six-ship Freedom Flotilla off the Gaza coast Monday, killing nine people and wounding dozens of others.

Arinc said Friday economic and military ties would be reduced along with all other bilateral involvement, Russia's RIA Novosti reported.

"We are serious on this issue. New cooperation will not start and relations with Israel will be reduced," Arinc said. "Israel lives in fear, and that caused the attack on civilians by the Israeli military. This fear can be overcome by stopping the unfair treatment of Palestinians."
